Senior moment

Mimo że faktycznie w ostatni weekend odwiedziłam babcię, to tytułowe wyrażenie nie ma z tym wiele wspólnego, zwłaszcza że tym razem mój pobyt był dłuższy niż zazwyczaj. Senior moment to sytuacja w której niespodziewanie zawodzi nas pamięć albo logika, np.:

• I’ve been having these senior moments recently – I will take the phone and forget who I was going to call or misplace the keys. Should I start worrying?
• You’ll never guess what I found in my fridge this morning. A book! Talk about having a senior moment! 

Jeśli natomiast powiemy coś niespójnego, niedorzecznego lub nie wiemy co powiedzieć, gdy akurat trzeba zabłysnąć, można to nazwać brain fart (można pisać również łącznie) albo brain cramp,  np.:

• I had prepared a really witty speech but when they called my name I had a brain cramp and only managed to mumble something incoherent.
• I stopped following her on Facebook when she started publishing some brain farts about her relationship.
